Threading Depth Calculation CVC

MetalWorkerTools edited this page Apr 10, 2023 · 5 revisions

In this repository you find a Microsoft Excel sheet for calculating threading depths of cut using a CVC (Constant Volume Cut) profile. This profile removes the same volume every pass. This will keep the cutting forces "the same" for every cut. Beware that cutting forces are also influenced by the length of the cutting edge. The harder the material, the higher the influence of the cutting edge length on the cutting forces.
The number of cuts and cutting depths are calculated based on the given first cutting depth and total cutting depth. Only change the blue values, the remaining values are calculated.
