Firmware 1.8.x has been extensively tested, but as this is an initial beta release, unexpected issues may still occur. If problems arise, a firmware recovery to a previous version may be required.

This update is provided as an offline installation only. Once we have confirmed everything is stable at scale, we will begin rolling it out to the online update servers.

Changelog

  • Disable Stellar RGB on power off for 1.6 consoles.
  • Fatal system errors are now reported via Stellar RGB.

  • Fixed black screen when native 720p boot animation is enabled, and screen mode is not set to Widescreen.
  • Fixed settings not saving correctly.
  • Fixed saved games reporting as corrupt due to EEPROM not decrypting correctly.
  • Fixed CPU upgrade and RAM upgrade support regression from 1.5.x

If you're currently on firmware 1.6.0, you may need to enter StellarOS Safe Mode by powering the system via the eject button to update 1.6.1.
