Mausam

Mausam is a web application built to check weather across different cities. It is developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, Servlets, JSP, and utilizes the OpenWeather API.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Java Development Kit (JDK)
  • Apache Tomcat server (or any other servlet container)
  • Eclipse IDE (or any other Java IDE) { More preferrable }
  • Internet connection (for fetching weather data from OpenWeather API)

Installation

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine:
    git clone https://github.com/LAKSHYA1509/mausam.git

Open Eclipse IDE and import the project: Click on File -> Import. Choose Existing Projects into Workspace. Select the root directory of the cloned project and click Finish.

Configure Apache Tomcat server:

Download and install Apache Tomcat server if you haven't already. Add the server to Eclipse by following these steps: Click on Window -> Preferences. Expand Server -> Runtime Environments. Click Add... and select Apache Tomcat. Browse to the location where Apache Tomcat is installed and click Finish.

Run the project:

Right-click on the project in Eclipse and select Run As -> Run on Server. Choose the configured Apache Tomcat server and click Finish.

Access the application:

Open a web browser and navigate to http://localhost:8000/mausam (replace 8000 with the port number configured for your Tomcat server if it's different).

Usage

Enter the name of the city whose weather you want to check in the provided input field. Click on the "Check Weather" button. The weather information for the specified city will be displayed on the screen.
