Hi everyone — thank you for contributing to OpenMMO. Your work landed before the project had a Contributor License Agreement, and I'd like to ask you to sign it retroactively.
What changed
OpenMMO now uses a Contributor License Agreement, checked automatically on new pull requests. Your contributions were merged before that was in place, so they aren't covered.
Why this matters
The repository is licensed under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Without a CLA, contributions arrive under that same license, which means even I — as the maintainer — only hold noncommercial rights to them. The CLA grants me the rights needed to keep maintaining, relicensing, and potentially commercializing the project as a whole.
What the CLA does not do: you keep full copyright of your own work and can use it however you like, anywhere else. The CLA grants a license to the project; it is not a transfer of ownership.
How to sign
Please read the CLA, then post a comment on this issue with exactly this line:
I have read the CLA Document and I hereby sign the CLA, including for all of my previously merged contributions to this project.
Your comment on this issue is the record — the automated bot only tracks pull requests, so nothing else is needed here.
Contributors and the PRs this covers
If you'd rather not sign, that's completely fine — just say so here (or say nothing). I'll work out what to do with those specific changes separately, and it doesn't affect my appreciation for the contribution. If you have questions about the CLA terms, ask in this thread.
