Interoperability Workflow

The EMS interoperability workflow consists of the following high-level steps:

1. EMS searches a health information network for a patient and receives medical summaries.
2. EMS sends its patient care report to a receiving hospital.
3. EMS receives discharge data from the hospital.
4. EMS incorporates hospital discharge data into the EMS patient care report and sends it to a state EMS repository.
