Introducing Escape launcher 2.0 πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

I'm happy to announce that Escape launcher is finally out of beta and ready for use with our biggest update yet!

Caution

Important: Before installing Escape 2.0, please clear the data and uninstall any previous installations to avoid crashes.
Here's how:

  1. Long-press the Escape app in a different launcher (e.g., Pixel Launcher, OneUI home).
  2. Tap App Info β†’ Storage β†’ Clear Storage.
  3. Uninstall the app.
  4. Install Escape 2.0.

Release Notes

  • Completely redesigned UI with new paged home screen that uses swiping instead of a button
  • Redesigned onboarding screen when you first open Escape to improve your setup experience
  • 12 new themes
  • Improved widget functionality (note this is the one part of the launcher that still has a few issues)
  • Redesigned, more organised settings
  • Better UI for alignment options in settings
  • Different fonts to choose from
  • Built in screen time tracking including
    • Screen time on home page
    • Screen time next to each app
    • Screen time tracking dashboard
    • Percent of average waking hours spent on phone
    • Percent higher than we recommend
  • New logo and branding
    • Teal green colour
    • New door logo to represent "escaping and the path you're taking"
  • Support for private space in Android 15 (note: this feature is only supported by Google on pixel phones currently)
  • Non-intrusive analytics to improve future app updates
  • Haptic feedback across the app
  • Two line clock
  • Support for en, fr and jp languages
  • Pretty much an entire rewrite of the backend for improved performance and easier updating in the future
