The Fire Events Data Suite (FEDS) algorithm processes satellite active fire detections to track the spread and intensity of individual wildland fires.
Our group generates FEDS estimated fire perimeters over the continental United States every 12 hours, using data from the VIIRS sensors on the Suomi-NPP, NOAA-20, and NOAA-21 satellites.
