> **Conclusion:** This study provides a transcriptome-based cellular landscape of human atherosclerotic plaques and highlights cellular plasticity and intercellular communication at the site of disease. This detailed definition of cell communities at play in atherosclerosis will facilitate cell-based mapping of novel interventional targets with direct functional relevance for the treatment of human disease.

You can opt to add a figure from the manuscript just to prettify the readme.

# Scripts
These are just examples - should be edited at will
We shared the scripts we used for the analyses of the data. These are provided as-is: they were not tested on different systems, _et cetera_.

* `SCRIPTS` : this folder contains several scripts used for the analyses.

# Data access
We are working on depositing the data, _i.e._ the single-cell RNAseq and associated experimental/clinical data from the [Athero-Express Biobank Study](http://www.atheroexpress.nl), used for this article to an online repository. As soon as we have more details we will post a placeholder in this `readme`. In the mean time you can contact us through email.

* `script_blabla.r` : used for quality control of scRNAseq data
* `script_figure.r` : used to create figure 1
