FAQ
Bio Hack Academy (BHA) is an event held by waag society, a maker space based in Amsterdam, NL; and we will host the program as a partner lab in Tokyo.
The program provides us with source codes and schematics for Arduino. However, the incubator will be using a Raspberry Pi and Python because the developer hates Arduino code. If you do not know what an Arduino is or whether if the Raspberry Pi is edible, don't worry! We'll be having a beginner's course on electronics.
An incubator is an equipment used in a lab to culture organisms by making a comfortable environment for the organism.
PCR stands for Polymerase Chain Reaction, the process of duplicating DNA so we can detect them, in layman's terms.
CRISPR stands for Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, it's used for genome editing. More info
Please come to our info session held on Jan 15, or come to any of our weekly meetings and we'll be happy to answer further questions!
