Model selector in the project defaults not working

have found when you create a new project and set the AI models in the project defaults, when you start a new chat it still defaults to Sonnet 4.5

There are workspace settings with project defaults, and there are separate settings within each project. Are you referring to workspace project defaults (under Settings in side navigation), or to the project settings (under Projects in side navigation)?

If you are referring to workspace project defaults, then also check the settings for the specific project; it may be overriding the workspace defaults.

Click the minus-circle to revert to "Workspace Defaults"

Then check whether a new collaboration picks up the correct model. If the collaboration is still using the wrong model then there must be a bug so report here again.

I am still experiencing this issue

I don't expect it to fix the issue you are seeing, but will help isolate where the problem is occurring. Please change the project config from "Claude Opus 4.6" to "Claude Opus" (not a specific version). Which model do you see when starting a new collaboration?

I tried that and a few other things, what you suggested didn't work as you thought but I did see the pattern it is defaulting to whatever was the last models used was, it starts with whatever you used last and you can switch projects and chats and it will stick
