Movie Catalogue Visualization Project Using AWS Quicksight

Project Overview

This project demonstrates the use of Amazon S3 and Amazon QuickSight to store, analyze, and visualize a catalogue of TV shows and movies. The project involves uploading data to S3, connecting it to QuickSight, and creating various visualizations to analyze the dataset.

Project Steps

  1. Creation of S3 & Data Upload to Amazon S3

    • Uploaded the TV/movie catalogue dataset to an Amazon S3 bucket.

    • This step ensures data is stored securely and is easily accessible for analysis.

      2

  2. Amazon QuickSight Integration

    • Connected the S3 bucket containing the dataset to Amazon QuickSight.
    • This integration allows for seamless data analysis and visualization.

  1. Data Visualization
    • Created various graphs, charts, and analyses using QuickSight.
    • Visualized the catalogue of TV shows and movies based on:
      • Release year.
      • Category.
      • Date added to the catalogue.

  1. Visualization Styles
    • Experimented with different visualization styles, including:
      • Donut charts.
      • Table views.
      • Bar graphs.
    • This variety of styles helps in presenting data from different perspectives

6

  1. Dashboard Creation
    • Formed a comprehensive dashboard combining various visualizations.
    • Published the dashboard for easy access and sharing.
    • Enabled export functionality for the dashboard.

Key Features

  • Data Storage: Secure and scalable storage using Amazon S3.
  • Data Analysis: Powerful analysis capabilities with Amazon QuickSight.
  • Diverse Visualizations: Multiple chart types to represent data effectively.
  • Interactive Dashboard: A published dashboard that can be easily shared and exported.

Insights Gained

  • Distribution of TV shows and movies across different release years.
  • Breakdown of content by category.
  • Trends in content addition to the catalogue over time.

Future Enhancements

  • Implement real-time data updates to the S3 bucket.
  • Add more complex analyses, such as content popularity or user ratings.
  • Integrate with other AWS services for more comprehensive insights.

How to Use

  1. Access the Amazon QuickSight dashboard using provided credentials.
  2. Navigate through different visualizations to explore the data.
  3. Use filters to focus on specific time periods, categories, or other attributes.
  4. Export the dashboard or specific visualizations as needed for presentations or further analysis.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates the power of combining Amazon S3 for data storage with Amazon QuickSight for data visualization. It provides valuable insights into the TV and movie catalogue, allowing for data-driven decision-making in content management and strategy.
