Builds on Zach's CAST PRO-1 section (#1207) with firmware 26.11.3.2 (Stable 2026-11-03) and 26.11.3.3 (Stable 2026-11-04, ApolloAutomation/CAST_PRO-1#17). This PR started as separate Line In and status check pages. Zach's section covers both topics, so I removed those pages and moved what was missing into his.

What changes

  • Analog In (Line In) (additional-info/analog-in.md, Zach's page). Adds:
    • the requirements: firmware 26.11.3.2 or newer and Music Assistant 2.10.7 or newer;
    • troubleshooting for a missing source: Setup required → Connect unpaired with audio input, or Turn on audio input if the owner picked "without audio input" earlier. Pair device is left out, since this firmware has no pairing code;
    • a warning that the unit plays through Optical while its Analog In streams, even with Audio Output on Analog;
    • playing it: pick the player first, then Browse, then Play (Music Assistant's documented order), plus the Select source menu on the unit's own player;
    • that it plays in one place at a time, and that you start and stop it from Music Assistant because the jack can't sense audio;
    • a tip for 26.11.3.2's leftover Line In switch;
    • the exact Line In Streaming option labels, bitrates, and the restart on change;
    • troubleshooting.
  • Naming: the jack is Analog In (Line In) in titles, nav, headings, and first mentions (user's decision). The firmware setting stays Line In Streaming. STYLE_GUIDE.md gets the rule under CAST PRO-1.
  • TTS and announcements: replaces the fixed 40 dB wording with the 26.11.3.3 Announcement Ducking (-80 to 0 dB, default -40) and Announcement LED Brightness (0 to 100%, default 100%) settings. A note says older firmware uses 40 dB and 50%. Also "not just" becomes "not only".
  • Sensor definitions: adds both announcement settings, gives Line In Streaming its full option labels and the restart, and notes on Audio Output that Analog In streaming plays through Optical.
  • Getting Started: a Music Assistant 2.10.7 or newer note, a Setup required step (Music Assistant keeps a first-time CAST PRO-1 out of playback until the owner picks Connect unpaired with audio input; needs_setup in the sendspin provider), and a tip to raise Static playback delay (ms) when a soundbar makes one room play late (26.11.3.3, static_delay_adjustable). The FAQ's multi-room answer points to it.
  • Hotspot tip: the join step now says the phone opens the Wi-Fi setup page by itself, or to go to http://192.168.4.1/setup. With captive_portal and web_server both on, the bare IP opens the device's web page instead. CAST-1 gets the same tip in docs: CAST-1 hotspot tip, Wi-Fi setup page at /setup #1209.
  • LED strip: names firmware 26.11.3.2, says the LED Strip entities are hidden even on current firmware, and says Music Mode follows Analog In. Also "labeled" and → in the menu path.
  • Removed: my examples/line-in.md and troubleshooting/castpro1-status-check.md, which duplicated Zach's Analog In and boot button pages. Neither was ever on dev, so no redirects are needed.

Where the facts come from

  • Firmware: Core.yaml, line_in.yaml, and led_strip.yaml on CAST_PRO-1 main (26.11.3.2) and beta (26.11.3.3).
  • Music Assistant:
    • 2.10.7 lists line-ins on their own player (List Sendspin line-ins on their own player music-assistant/server#7059), names them Sendspin Source (player name) (#7023), and allows unpaired use (#7029).
    • Turn on audio input, Connect unpaired with audio input, and Static playback delay (ms) (0 to 5000 ms, default 0) are labels from the sendspin provider's strings.
    • Autostart only acts on signal changes, so it isn't documented for the CAST PRO-1.

Open questions

  1. Setup on real hardware: per Music Assistant's code, a CAST PRO-1 shows Setup required until the owner picks a connection. Music Assistant 2.10.9 with Home Assistant 2026.11 (in beta) can pair it automatically. Worth a check on hardware, plus a screenshot for the Analog In TODO.
  2. 26.11.3.2's Line In switch: 26.11.3.3 is Stable now, so the tip says to update and to leave the switch off until then. Remove the tip once few units are on 26.11.3.2?
  3. Source name: Zach's page names it Sendspin Source (Apollo CAST_PRO-1 xxxxxx). Music Assistant names it after the player, so I added that a renamed player changes it. Worth a hardware check with the screenshot TODO.

Not changed

  • No Homey tree exists for CAST PRO-1.
  • The other points from an independent review of Zach's pages (WizMote blueprint, the reflash installer link, ESPHome 2026.11 for Device Builder, Sendspin Player and TTS, and others) are reported to the user separately and aren't changed here.

… status check

Line In is now a Music Assistant source in firmware 26.11.3.2: a new
page covers playing it on any speaker, the Line In switch and
autostart, the Line In Streaming options, and the optical-only output
while it streams. The LED strip page names the firmware that adds it
and the Effect A and Effect B controls. A new troubleshooting page
covers the boot button status colors, factory reset, and re-adding to
Home Assistant. The introduction gets the new Line In wording and a
short table of the device page controls.

Firmware 26.11.3.2 drops the Line In switch (CAST_PRO-1 504c815): the
aux jack can't sense audio, so the source always reports a signal and
Music Assistant never autostarts it. The Line In page now has a
one-time Turn on audio input step and says to start and stop Line In
from Music Assistant. The introduction's controls table loses the
Line In row.

Firmware 26.11.3.2 lets Music Assistant adjust the CAST PRO-1's
playback delay (CAST_PRO-1 20f57b6). The introduction now says to
raise Static playback delay (ms) when a soundbar or receiver makes one
room play late, and the firmware note lists it.

Zach's CAST PRO-1 section (#1207) covers Line In and the boot button,
so the separate Line In and status check pages are gone. What they had
that his pages didn't now lives on the Analog In page: the one-time
Turn on audio input step, the optical-only output while it streams,
the exact Line In Streaming labels, the requirements, and
troubleshooting.

- Name the jack Analog In (Line In), and add the rule to the style guide
- TTS and sensor definitions: Announcement Ducking and Announcement LED
  Brightness from firmware 26.11.3.3
- Getting Started: the Music Assistant 2.10.7 note, and Static playback
  delay (ms) for a room that plays late (also in the FAQ)
- LED strip: firmware 26.11.3.2, Music Mode follows Analog In, US
  spelling, menu arrows

@Bunton33 Bunton33 changed the title docs: CAST PRO-1 Line In through Music Assistant, LED strip firmware, status check docs: CAST PRO-1 Analog In (Line In) details, announcement sliders, playback delay Nov 4, 2026

A first-time CAST PRO-1 shows Setup required in Music Assistant and
can't play until the owner picks a connection, so Getting Started now
says to choose Connect unpaired with audio input. The Analog In page
drops the unconditional Turn on audio input step and Pair device (this
firmware has no pairing code). Music Assistant only offers Turn on
audio input after Connect unpaired without audio input, so it moves to
troubleshooting.

Also: the Audio Output row notes Optical while Analog In streams, and
the LED strip note says its entities are hidden by default instead of
suggesting a firmware update.

With both captive_portal and web_server, http://192.168.4.1/ opens the
device's own web page, and the Wi-Fi setup page answers at any other
path. The tip at the join step says the phone opens the setup page by
itself, or to go to http://192.168.4.1/setup.
