Problem

Currently, identifying which incoming redirect/s target/s a specific content item requires a user to navigate away from the content item to the separate Redirects App. Users must manually scan or search within the Redirects App to find this information.

This creates a disjointed user experience:

• Lack of Context: Users cannot see relevant redirects directly within the content item it affects.
• Inefficiency: It requires context switching between different application areas for a related task.
• Difficult Management: Assessing the impact of URL changes or managing redirects related to a specific piece of content is cumbersome.

This has made users convey the need to view and manage incoming redirects directly within the context of the content item they are editing.

Solution

We are introducing a new "Redirects" tab within the content item editing experience. This tab will display a table listing all the incoming redirects that have the current content item set as their target. The table within this tab will replicate key functionalities found in the main Redirects App table. These include:

1. Sorting by column headers
2. Editing a redirect
3. Deleting a redirect
4. Viewing the tooltip on hover for any of the cells
