Tailscale is great and so far I don't have any reason to not to trust its control plane. But I am a IaC/GitOps guy, and managing users, devices, policies on their GUI is painful. Sure, there are APIs and I am actually using their Terraform provider currently, but it's not a method I like to marry to in the long run: The 3-way comparison in terraform operations is unnecessary complexity and is not something I can manage in a GitOps/Kubernetes way. This repository is designed to be the single source of truth for my homelab, the less magic outside the repo, the better.

Or switch to ZeroTier, with the bonus point that mDNS broadcast would work, whenever it supports custom moons.
