Unable to add a person with a unique ID

As seen in the screenshot below, I am unable to add a person with id johndOe41, even though the id is unique.

Hi.

We mention in our UG that id is case-insensitive. It does not affect functionality much as well, since we prevent duplicate ids from being added.
