appimage blank screen & flatpak libs

Describe the bug
download the v1.1.4 appimage version. when executing the app, an empty blank window is opened. can't see anything. if i move the mouse to the top right corner i can still close the app. i presume articles are loaded but not displayed.

resorted to flatpak version.. btw have outdated libs
