I see some activity on the master branch, but no release has been published in ~3 years. Is the project still actively maintained and if so are there plans to make new releases?

@silverbucket: After several years, @sonnyp has done a comeback and has worked, it is very nice!

And he has looked the @singpolyma PR:

Important note: SCRAM-SHA-256 and more are always not supported (same for -PLUS variants: Channel Binding).
I have created a ticket for this case: #1061
