Reader not playing video

Expected behavior

The Reader should play videos.

Actual behavior

I see an error message when trying to watch videos in Reader.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Navigate to a site with a video (the video should be hosted on VideoPress
2. Open the site in Reader
3. Notice the "There's been an error" message

I haven't checked how widespread this issue is. The site where I saw this is a private WP.com site.

Tested on iPhone 11, iOS 17.0 beta 2, Jetpack iOS 22.6

I'm also seeing this error on mobile Safari and mobile Chrome, but not on these browser's desktop versions.

This is what I see on Jetpack iOS 23.3:

There was no error message and this was not a private site.

I created a new post with a video using VideoPress block and another using the Video block. In reader, only the Video block is displayed. Both appeared in the webview.

While unlikely, do you think this could be related to the recent media picker update @kean? Seems unlikely, but given the High priority of this issue I thought I'd ask for your thoughts.

@guarani, I tested the following:

• Adding the VideoPress block to one of my Premium sites from wp.com: the block is not displayed in the Reader
• Opening a post with a VideoPress block in the Reader in Jetpack 22.6: the block is not displayed
