Pre-submission checks

  • I am not reporting a bug (crash, false positive/negative, etc). These must be filed via the bug report template.
  • I have looked through the open issues for a duplicate request.

What's the problem this feature will solve?

I demand instant gratification of a job-well-done. Practicing good code hygiene is a hard and thankless job. My QoL would be greatly improved if my effort were met with congratulatory praise.

Describe the solution you'd like

Include an easter egg feature flag --witness-me which, when provided, exclaims "Thank you, Dr. Zizmor" using the localhost's speech synthesizer (if available) whenever the job exits 0.

Additional context

Alternative flags may be provided. It need not be a hidden flag. Bonus points if this feature were excluded from all dry-run/testing/informational modes of operation.

(This is tongue-in-cheek though I'm only half-joking. If this were interesting, I might submit a PR for this! Thanks @woodruffw for the useful project!)

lol. I think using the local speech synthesizer is going too far, but I wouldn't be opposed to a hidden flag that spits out some ASCII art or similar, as an easter egg 🙂
