example from our debian.sh:

execute_chroot_command "mysql --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf < /etc/mysql/pwchange.sql >>/dev/null 2>&1";

maybe this isn't that smart, should we remove the redirect for STDERR? Or will this throw an error in general?
