How to deal with markers or masks to edit footage?

Hello @v0lt,

just wanna know whether there is any method to use markers or mask marker to make video edits? I wanna select specific parts in the video and add those selections into a list I have quick access on it to jump on the marks I made but unfortunately its not implemented in VD2 yet / still. Is there any chance you could add it or create a plugin for that etc?

Also to create custom selections / marker of video parts and if finished I want to export only the marked parts as one video or just cut away the not marked parts to export my desired edit as one video. Just always wondered why this was not implemented in VD & VD2 but it would be so much helpfully.

So right now we can just use markers (M) or Mask markers in entire video and jumping on them via key shortcut from one to next etc. Pretty cumbersome of course and bad. Do you see any chance to improve that a little bit maybe?

PS: Keep in mind that I can't edit the footage via cutting all not needed video parts out, so I need to keep the timeline / video complete as it is if I work with time codes.

There are masks too, but I don’t remember how it works.

Is there any chance you could add it or create a plugin for that etc?

I don't plan any big or complex changes for VirtualDub2.

so could you implement a extra window to display every marker to jump on them. Lets say I have set 30 markers (M) or I have set 2 Markers for an selection. Its pretty bad to use short cut key's to jump though the timeline around. Having a little window to see all markers / times and double click on any of them to jump on any would be much better. So for this task you shouldn't need to code very much but it would increase the workflow a lot. Something like that would be good to have. Or a new filter plugin what can do that so then you don't need to change the VD2 source. Anything should be doable.

I want to mark / select all parts in a video I want to export at the end as one new video without to cut away anything from the timeline.
