Describe the issue
When I try to play Roblox in a Mac VM, it's unable to load 3d meshes. I would really like to try with no GPU at all (I'm trying to play with two accounts at once in the same server, so I would be fine with even low resolution and in-game graphics settings)

Configuration

  • UTM Version: 4.6.4
  • macOS Version: 15.2
  • Mac Chip (Intel, M1, ...): M1 Pro

QEMU (and every vm software in general) intend to have a really bad support for Hardware Acceleration and gaming on VMs is not a good idea in the first place

I don't understand why Roblox can't run with Virtualization framework if its meant to have full GPU support for Mac-on-Mac VMs.

Do you have ideas of what I could try?

vfio (which is the one responsible for the passthrough gpu) is for linux only and cannot be ported to mac easily like kvm
so you have to also virtualize the gpu which is just made to make the os much smother and not to game on
