On change of data type of file in editor, each type of file is being stored in sys/tmp. I think solution is to clean up sys/tmp on change of content type. Bug could be observed in editor mode on preview screen when changing data type (for example: from txt to markdown) or when displaying a different file type in the editor compared to the published version.
