@andymithamclarke @ErmiaUOG Reporting requirements:

We MUST use GA4 implemented via GTM. This gives us flexibility to do custom tracking and reporting to suit the needs of the centre and also make sure that we have control over what we are reporting.
GA4 is still a beta tool and their automatic reporting has proven to not be accurate and sometimes correct.

Must reporting requirements for launch:

  • traffic volumes (aka number of visitors to the website)
  • sources of traffic (where are users coming from)
  • Other standard metrics such as time on page, bounce rate, engagement rate, etc.
  • clicks on CTAs (such as clicks on the data catalogue button at the top nav and across the website)
  • newsletter sign ups
  • clicks on external links, including email links
  • video interactions (clicks to view the video, number of video views, percentage completion, drop rate)

Desirables but not a blocker for launch: we want to have GA4 custom reports where we can easily see the information above. I am happy to look at suggestions from VEZA team. Also happy to have a call to discuss options.
