Describe the bug

At the login screen when typing my password and hitting enter the page blinks for a second and then does nothing. The only way to get it to login correctly is to click ESC a few times which seems to get the login screen to reset. This happens when connected to a monitor over HDMI from my laptop with the laptop screen set to be off and the monitor set as my primary display.

What did you expect to happen?

I enter my password and click enter and I should be logged in
