Can anything be done to improve security for app cross-interaction on Windows?

Aside from AppContainer and Hypervisor/Hyper-V/VM, what can be done to improve security for Cromite when other apps open it (as default browser) and when it opens other apps? For example, Cromite can be used to login to whichever app or it can be used to launch another app, like uTorrent. When that happens, there is sharing of threads and resrouces, such as OpenWinClass, OpenCLSID, IPC, files, and registry. Are there any flags or settings to create any kind of isolation or reduce resource sharing somehow?
