Overview

rubyAi is a Chrome extension that translates any language text on a web page and displays the translation as ruby above the text.

Features

  • Translates text on the page and displays the translation as ruby.
  • Uses the OpenAI API for translation.
  • Allows toggling translation ON/OFF.

Installation

  1. Clone or download this repository.
  2. Open the Chrome extension management page (chrome://extensions).
  3. Turn on 'Developer mode' in the top right.
  4. Click 'Load unpacked extension' and select the downloaded folder.

Usage

  1. Click the extension icon to open the popup.
  2. Enter your OpenAI API key and click the 'Save API Key' button.
  3. Enter the language you want to translate into in the text field (e.g., 'English', 'Japanese').
  4. Click the 'ON' button to start the translation. The text on the page will be translated and the translation will be displayed as ruby.
  5. Click the 'OFF' button to stop the translation.

Notes

  • This extension uses the OpenAI API for translation. Therefore, an OpenAI API key is required for use.
  • Translation is done by API request, so if you translate a large amount of text, you may incur API usage fees. Please use at your own risk.
  • This extension is under development and has not been fully tested. There may be bugs or issues.
