I have the exact same issue, i've tried older versions of it, still haven't found a fix, let me know if you do!

Probably using INTEL BT. Intel bluetooth doesnt work with motion plus wiimotes (the audio part).

Only works with older non motion ones (but sound on those is all distorted, a know problem with those wiimotes, same happens with dolphin).

The motion ones just does a "click" sound when using intel BT chipset, not sure if can be solved or it´s a intel bt driver fault (probably)

Both work as expected (old wiimote model non TR distorted, motion one model TR fine) with other BT chipsets.
