bug: Is the mirror function working for you guys? (IDE to Discord sync issue)

Hey everyone,

I'm currently using LazyGravity to control Google Antigravity remotely, running both lazy-gravity open and lazy-gravity start from my PC's PowerShell.

Everything works perfectly when I send messages from Discord (my phone): the prompts, the AI's thoughts, and the responses all show up great on the Discord side.

However, when I'm sitting at my computer and type directly into the Antigravity IDE, none of those messages or logs get sent back to Discord. Because of this, my Discord chat history is incomplete whenever I switch between my PC and my phone.

Is the mirror function working for you guys? Is there a specific configuration I'm missing to enable two-way syncing, or is the bot currently designed to only listen to Discord inputs and ignore manual IDE inputs?

Any help or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @PlayOutKids, thanks for the detailed report!

The /mirror feature does exist and is working, but it's opt-in — so it's likely just a configuration step that's missing. A couple of things to verify:

1. Is /mirror turned ON for your session?

Mirroring is OFF by default. You need to run /mirror in the bound channel to toggle it ON. You should see a 📡 Mirroring ON embed as confirmation. Running /mirror again turns it OFF.

2. Is the session bound via /join?

Mirrored PC messages are only forwarded if the current Antigravity chat has a matching Discord channel binding. Specifically:

• The bot looks up chatSessionRepo.findByDisplayName(projectName, chatTitle) to find the target channel
• If no matching session is bound, the message is silently skipped (see joinCommandHandler.ts:336-345)

So the typical flow is:

1. /project → bind the channel to a project directory
2. /join → select the Antigravity chat session you want to mirror (this creates the displayName binding)
3. /mirror → toggle ON

You can also check /status — it shows whether mirroring is active for each workspace.

Could you share:

• Output of /status when you're in the channel where mirroring should be active
• Whether you see the 📡 Mirroring ON embed after running /mirror
• Whether the Antigravity chat you're typing in was joined via /join (or is it a different session?)

If you've confirmed all three steps above and it's still not working, that would indicate an actual bug and we'd dig deeper.

At this point, this looks more like a real bug than a /mirror setup issue.

I don’t currently have a Windows environment available, so I’m not in a good position to reproduce and manually validate this behavior on my side. Since you’re able to reproduce it reliably in a real setup, I think the most practical next step would be for you to investigate it locally and open a PR if you’re able.

From reviewing the current implementation, the issue is most likely somewhere in the PC-to-Discord mirroring path:

• detecting messages typed directly in Antigravity
• resolving the active conversation/session
• routing the detected message back to the correct Discord channel

If you decide to work on it, a draft PR is absolutely fine. Even investigation notes plus extra logging would already be helpful, and I’d be happy to review and help refine the fix.

No worries at all — you do not need to already know the PR process to help.

This repo does have contribution guidance:

• CONTRIBUTING.md explains the basic PR flow
• there is also a PR template in .github/PULL_REQUEST_TEMPLATE.md
• before opening a PR, the main expectation is to run:
  • npm run build
  • npm test

So if you do end up making a change, it does not need to be perfect on the first try — a draft PR is completely fine.

For this specific issue, manual verification is especially helpful because it seems to depend on the real Antigravity/Discord runtime behavior. So even if you do not submit a fix, any of the following would already be valuable:

• bot logs while /mirror is ON
• what happens after typing directly in Antigravity on the PC
• notes about whether the behavior changes across sessions/projects

I am debugging LazyGravity issue #148.

Problem:
PC-to-Discord mirroring does not work when typing directly in Antigravity on the computer, even though /mirror is ON and Discord-to-Antigravity works.

Confirmed repro:

• /project is set
• /join was used
• /mirror is ON
• /status shows [Detecting] [Mirror]
• messages sent from Discord appear in Antigravity
• messages typed directly in Antigravity do not appear back in Discord

Please investigate the PC-to-Discord mirroring path in this repository.

Focus areas:

• user message detection from the Antigravity UI
• current chat/session resolution
• routing the detected message back to the correct Discord channel

1. identify the most likely cause
2. add logging or tests if useful

I have a windows environment as well and I can confirm the bug exists. Now that we got the artifacts working I can give it a look at this later.

As a side note: I've noticed recent changes in the antigravity chat that fail to render the final message properly to discord, specially when the agent made more than one artifact in the last run.
