Just an FYI, there's been an ongoing effort to specify and work on terminal standards. Some of those are:

It seems like the invisible-island page is derived from http://rtfm.etla.org/xterm/ctlseq.html with more recent updates. (I note that both pages are "documenting the status quo" rather than proposing or defining new standards.)

Actually, it looks more like the other way around - the invisible-island.net is Thomas Dickey's site (the maintainer for the last 20 years or so of Xterm) and the rtfm.etla.org one is a copy/paste with fancy styling... 🙄
