Why is the inclusion of [ps, mover] necessary? Thanks, I have been wondering about this for quite a while! Also, are things different in LyX 1.4.4?

The ps and mover packages are used by the lyxskak.sty package, which integrates the "skak" chess package into LyX:

# egrep -i '\b(ps|mover)\b' /usr/share/lyx/tex/lyxskak.sty | wc -l

I don't think so. I am using LyX 1.6.6.1 (2010-05-28) now and lyxskak.sty still does not contain the necessary "usepackage" directive:

# fgrep usepackage /usr/share/lyx/tex/lyxskak.sty | wc -l
0

I'm running into some errors while rendering my old chess presentation slides LyX file. I'll try to solve it later, when I have some free time.

I have spent many hours with the \lyxskak package now. You gave me the final hint, thanks a lot.
But after all this work I have to say: Chess is the first time I am really disappointed by Lyx:
- There doesn't seem to be any documentation - you have to find out yourself.
- You cannot use the \skak package and have to use a Lyx-version of it which seems to be less powerful
- You don't get the WYSIWYM - Style. You cant even see the board in your Lyx document.

Does anybody know just a small piece of documentation?
