I'm reading your bilateral home row mods setup here: https://sunaku.github.io/home-row-mods.html and I have couple of questions. I can't find an appropriate place to ask, so I'll do it here.
I don't have QMK or ZMK so I don't have a means to test it, but I want to replicate your setup for Kanata. When you say:
However, this tends to obstruct the Shift modifier when typing parentheses or punctuation marks such as ! and ? at the end of a sentence; and it requires a dedicated Shift key as a workaround, per @urob’s “timeless” mods for ZMK. So I went further and exempted Shift modifiers from typing streaks in a bitwise mask:
And so, with all this, typing feels natural again! No more unconscious fears about accidentally triggering home row mods. 😌 It’s a complete game changer! 🤩
Does that mean that when you're currently typing fast, your A and H key (in the Engram layout) still behaves as a standard modtap shift key, just like when you're not typing fast?
I would love to hear an explanation of how this works as a non-QMK user.
