Peer review #10

Description

@Ishrit-Gupta
  • Peer review by: The great group three

  • Names of team members that participated in this review: Ishrit Gupta

  • Describe the goal of the project.
They aim to analyze growth in tech jobs inside and outside of the US. They hypothesize that the AI sector and ML jobs will have more growth than data science and analyst jobs. They also believe that tech jobs inside the US will pay more.

  • Describe the data used or collected, if any. If the proposal does not include the use of a specific dataset, comment on whether the project would be strengthened by the inclusion of a dataset.
The dataset comes from ai-jobs.net. It was from different job postings in ML/AI/Data science etc. Each observation is a person, and they provide the job type, title, pay, location, etc. The information is from the past 3 years, since 2021.

  • Describe the approaches, tools, and methods that will be used.
They compare means and medians for the different jobs, then uses a linear regression model to predict salaries by job type. They made a 99% confidence interval, and a logistic regression about engineers vs analyst based on pay.

  • Provide constructive feedback on how the team might be able to improve their project. Make sure your feedback includes at least one comment on the statistical reasoning aspect of the project, but do feel free to comment on aspects beyond the reasoning as well.
Why do you use the 99% confidence interval?
Your salary labels could be better. Why not just put the (Thousands of Dollars) as the label?
    Pretty visualizations! Colorblind?

  • What aspect of this project are you most interested in and would like to see highlighted in the presentation.
Love the variety of questions you answer, and your project is filled with numbers and visualizations. I would like to see those visualizations explained some more. I feel like it wasn't always clear why you did certain tests, so make sure to explain that!

  • Were you able to reproduce the project by clicking on Render Website once you cloned it? Were there any issues with reproducibility?

Yep!

  • Provide constructive feedback on any issues with file and/or code organization.
The file is fine, but some code is running over the 80 character line. Careful!

  • What have you learned from this team's project that you are considering implementing in your own project?
Love the idea of a logistic regression! I might apply it to our project.

  • (Optional) Any further comments or feedback?
