Who Are You Sponsoring?

My name is Lincoln Stein. My day job is developing software for embedded systems. In my free time I like working on software and hardware that enables intelligent systems while contributing to projects ranging from robotics to augmented reality.

I'm currently focused on what I like to call intelligent systems. This could take the form of the SCUTTLE project which is an open source robotic platform made to handle a impressive payload (>40kg) for a low cost (<$350). This project has great potential for education at many levels and customization through expansion for home assistance, manipulation, outdoor use, and so much more.
Another application I am exploring is through Project North Star which is an open source augmented reality headset. I think AR can be built into a great interface for working with robotics, from providing access headless systems, sharing data, debugging, etc. to the other side where technologies shared between the endeavors can help enhance and elevate the capabilites of humans through spatial understanding, mapping, remote collaboration and much more.

Sponsorship Impact

I want to continue to develop and share my ideas to push our collective accomplishments forward. Sponsorship enables me to:

  • dedicate more resources to testing out new hardware, developing software, and all the documentation that helps everyone build and achieve more together.
  • creating content, such as videos and articles, to make amazing open-source projects more accessible and useful through tutorials and example projects.
  • Exploring requests to explore ideas from supporters
  • Mentorship and community is another way I am working to contribute, so please feel free to reach out! My email is [email protected]

Finding the right hardware for your project is always a challenge. This will help fund hardware purchases for testing on projects like SCUTTLE. All the data and software developed for this will be provided back to the community.

Awesome! I know you could have spent this on an amazing drink from your favorite coffee place but instead, you are fueling open knowledge sharing and a better world built with transparency. I'm sure that will keep you going a lot longer than caffeine. Look for your name in my list of sponsors and be sure to send your requests for what I should cover. Keep on being awesome!
