Neon MCP server returns “Server not found” during initial connection (before API key prompt)

Hi Smithery team 👋

I’m facing an issue while trying to connect the Neon MCP server via Smithery, and it seems to fail before the API key configuration step.

What I’m trying to do

• Connect to the official Neon MCP server
• URL used: https://server.smithery.ai/neon
• Goal: I want to reach the authentication/config step where Smithery prompts for the Neon API key

Issue
When attempting to connect (or reconnect), I immediately get this error:

This happens before I’m ever prompted to enter a Neon API key.

Important clarification

• I have not provided any Neon API key yet
• The error occurs during initial connection, not after auth
• The integration appears to be “stuck” in a reconnect state

Steps I’ve already tried

• Removed the Neon integration from Apps
• Re-added Neon via the Apps menu / server search

Despite this, the connection fails immediately with Server not found, and I never reach the API key prompt.

Question

• Is the Neon MCP server endpoint currently available and accepting initial connections?
• Is there a known issue with the Neon MCP server deployment or routing?
• Is there a required prerequisite (organization selection, pre-configured key, etc.) before the first connection?

Happy to provide logs or test anything needed.
