When no internet connection, template exception

When the user, for some reason, does not have internet or it is not reliable, the package fails and it throws a template exception, which in my case, it's preventing the template to load.

Do you think we could do a beautiful degradation, in the sense of not providing the list of countries or not validating it (may be a option, so we can set it up if we want it).

What do you think? Are you still maintaining it?

I admit, there is currently no maintenance for this package, but if you find a solution and make a Pull Request, we are inclined to merge it fast.
