I'm so glad to see someone pick this up and rewrite it in python. I've been split between apt-mirror and debmirror. I like apt-mirrors speed compared to debmirror which I find super super slow but I really need the checksum checking of debmirror. I find that my ISP is fast but has a lot of dropped packets, my guess is there is a incorrect MTU somewhere upstream.

I'm not a very good coder so I won't be of much support but I'm hopeful that you will be able to find help to add checksum checking like debmirror (like every 10 days do a full checksum of the files).

I currently use it to mirror:
Ubuntu (Bionic and Xenial) amd64, i386, armhf
Debian (Jessie and Stretch) amd64, i386, armhf
Kali (rolling) amd64, i386, armhf

For development purposes this has greatly sped up my builds.

Thanks again for working on this!
