Hi,

So I believe this is a limit usecase, but I'll ask anyway.

I have folders in which I have different songs.
I read the gonic readme and understand these songs can't belong to "different albums", so they all show the same album (in reference to #89). Right.

Nonetheless, they could have different years ? Let's say my album is a compilation of different songs. These songs, put together in an album, could still have different years of release, couldn't they ?

In any case, in Gonic 0.16, all songs seem to have the same year set in a given folder.
Do you consider this a normal behavior, or a bug ? Is it something you would consider allowing/modifying ?

System folders don't even have an "album year", so I understand you give them one probably based on the songs within (if there are multiple different dates, let's say the album corresponds to the most recent date, it cannot be published before one of the songs), but why should that imply a rewrite of every song's year/date in the folder with the first one found ?

See the few images for example.
Songs years shown by gonic on a frontend player
What gonic sends for 2 perticular songs
Windows Folder and songs with different years

Thanks for your time !

ah yes, that's because the year info is stored with the album entity. i suppose maybe track level years might make sense

@sentriz sentriz changed the title One folder = one year ? track level year info Jan 5, 2025
