For some reasons it stopped working some time ago.

Don't observe an errors or popup when pasting images.

It just uses the filenames as usual.

Yes on a mac.
I recall there was an instance where it worked again.
I'm not sure if it's linked to the CleanShot app.
Not sure if there's a difference between pasting from CleanShot vs Finder.

Yes, I recently discovered that this plugin also stopped working. I tested it in Obsidian's test vault and only installed this plugin to rule out conflicts with other plugins. When I first installed it, I found that the plugin still didn't work, but later I discovered that turning on the "Handle all attachments" function would restore the plugin's automatic renaming function. Based on the description of this function button, it can be guessed that this plugin may be triggered by identifying the "pasted image" file prefix. I think my problem may be because I changed my screenshot software, or after the Obsidian version was updated, the pictures pasted into Obsidian no longer started with "pasted image", causing the plugin function to fail to trigger.

I've also observed the plugin not working over the last few weeks on my work Windows laptop. Just dropped an image in now and it creates a standard ![[Pasted image 20250729145241.jpg]] reference with no indication the plugin has recognised this. I've just tried the suggestion above of enabling the "handle all attachments" option and the plugin works as expected

I have same issue. I have another plugin "Custom Attachment Location" installed. I usually disable the rename function of "Custom Attachment Location" because it do not have a choose to keep the original filename instead of modified.

The Paste Image Rename work before. But after some updates, PIR not work as normal. Sometime work and sometime not.

It is my thought of it may conflict with some other rename plugin, don't know conflicted with which plugin and how. Hope it is a clue.

Same issue here, on Linux. Doesn't work at all. This is the only plugin I have installed.

Following the steps in the PR #67 thankfully fixes it for me.
It's a pity this project seems to not be maintained anymore - it'd be nice if the PR was merged at some point.

Thanks, but I am using macOS. And don't know how to replace the file. May I have more instructions, or any direct way to re-install? Thanks.
