Using Readium in a Kotlin Multiplatform project?

Is it possible to use Readium in a KMP project in the shared library while targeting both iOS and Android?

My project targets both iOS and Android. We're using Ktor in our shared library to do the networking and would like to feed the streamed data retrieved to Readium's OPDS1Parser from the Kotlin toolkit in that shared library as well. Has anybody tried this and was it successful?

Hello,
The Kotlin toolkit is not KMP yet. You might still be able to write a KMP wrapper around the Kotlin toolkit for the Android target and the Swift toolkit for the iOS target.

@qnga You say "not...yet". Are there plans in place to make a KMP-friendly release of Readium? At least for the parsing portion of things?

Yes, we'd love to, but it's not a priority. Feel free to contribute if you can.

@qnga If and when I find the time, I'd be more than happy to contribute. Readium is central to the feature set for my current project. So, once we have an MVP, it would be in our mutual interests to help with such a release.
