Diagram breaks from error point onwards

Describe the bug
I noticed that if one of your entries is wrong, some of your your downstream tallies brak too.

To Reproduce

Break 'dbr_excluded' by putting a single value (e.g. 10) in there instead of list of exclusion reasons formatted properly (Reason1, x; Reason2, x) and the diagram will make itself but the new studies tally ('new_studies') will be wrong.

Expected behavior
Should refuse to make diagram or at least throw an error in the box
