Emojis Not Displaying Properly on Hyprland

Description

Hey everyone,

I'm using Hyprland on Arch Linux, and I've run into an issue where emojis aren't displaying properly in some applications. Instead of the correct emojis, I either see blank boxes or weird symbols.

Here's some context:

Distro: Arch Linux

WM: Hyprland with prasanthrangan/hyprdots

Browser: Brave

I've already installed some emoji fonts like noto-fonts-emoji and refreshed the font cache (fc-cache -fv).

Despite that, the problem persists. It seems like Hyprland or some apps might not be picking up the emoji fonts correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this or knows a fix? Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Expected Behavior

Emojis are not showing

I attempted to reproduce the issue you're facing but was unable to replicate it. You might want to try adjusting the GTK font settings, as that could potentially solve the problem.
