mkinitcpio and udev rules not working as symlinks

The rules in symlink.conf that are supposed to allow mkinitcpio to read the symlinks created by stow do not appear to work.

blacklisting pcspkr and adding the /sys/class/backlight/*/brightness files to the video group don't work.

Current workaround is to copy the relevant files manually:

sudo cp legion/etc/udev/rules.d/00-backlight.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/00-backlight.rules
sudo cp legion/etc/udev/rules.d/00-remove-nvidia.rule /etc/udev/rules.d/00-remove-nvidia.rule
sudo cp legion/etc/modprobe.d/nobeep.conf /etc/modprobe.d
sudo cp legion/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nouveau.conf /etc/modprobe.d

The issue appears not to be connected to the symlinks themselves but the fact that the symlinks go across filesystems.
(/home and / are different LVM volumes).
