A nice model to follow here might be what the Coptic Scriptorium project did -- e.g. see the "Cite this Document" section of http://data.copticscriptorium.org/texts/eagernesss/gf17-18/norm . We should also include bibliographic markup (e.g. COinS metadata) for automatic citability via tools like Zotero.
