Is there a way to change the command line tool to have the behavior from the node version with attribute 2:

"2" Same as smarty_pants="1", except that it uses the old-school typewriter shorthand for dashes: -- (dash dash) for en-dashes, --- (dash dash dash) for em-dashes.

I think this allows greater flexibility.

Hi,

Feature request – is it possible to make the command line version have the same behavior from the node version with attribute 2? As in this:

en --
em ---

Would translate to:

en –
em —

I think this small change would make the command line more a flexible tool.
