New Metrics Model to Consider: Influence #31
Comments
There may be two metrics models here, one that focuses on people and one that focuses on projects/repo. We are going to be focusing the metrics model on the people component. |
Just noticed this while reviewing the metrics model meeting minutes - Thanks for raising it up! I'm going to separate this model into people and project levels. |
Could I design it based on my understanding? Because I didn't see any out of box solution to implement it. @germonprez @xiaoya-yaya |
I'm okay with that. The main issues that came up in the OSPO meeting were:
1) Recognize an organization's increasing or steady influence in a project
-- helping guide/control the project
2) Recognize an organization's decreasing influence in a project -
indicating that former intellectual property is being more driven by
community work.

I have the same interests on these two points, but I am kinda doubt current influence definition is used for these points. ... |
Yea Agreed. It was discussed that the metric model might actually be two
models. I think that this is being worked on.

We can work together on that. Actually I have one model deployed on Compass to measure Organizations activity in a project. I haven't contributed it to CHAOSS yet, but I planed to do so. We can work together on it. |
Count me in!

Great, I just prepare a good doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PUJsc00erabV3FyjJL_IMcyV2EZ5ZSUXVw_puEln0QM/edit#, also post it on CHAOSS slack. |
Hello,
In the April 6, 2023 CHAOSS OSPO-metrics WG meeting, one of the metrics models that was discussed was the Influence metrics model as presented in earlier CHAOSS metrics models WG meetings. The metric model has not been deployed in CHAOSS but I'd love to open the conversation here about the viability of the model in practice

Thanks!
