Thanks for your initiative, University of Bremen and ELAN!
Yes
I'm not an experienced developer, but have some JavaScript/TypeScript knowledge and have realised/contributed to some small apps in React and Angular 2+ in the past.
My goal is to understand the code, be able to fix some bugs and make some small modifications. I'll leave the development of new features to more experienced developers. |

I'm an odd duck here, and likely won't be actually synchronous with the event, so take these with a grain of salt
I intend on at least skimming the videos afterwards
My web dev experience consists primarily of Web 1.0, and (ab)use of form parameters. In terms of scripting, does jQuery count?
This is where my odd-duckness comes in. I don't follow front end development, so words like "React" don't necessarily mean anything to me, sooo.
I'm by no means meaning to be a mainline FE dev, but I'd like to be able to reliably identify what's wrong when I see build errors doing reviews, or add and modify UI elements touching more than one file :) |

Very interested, but not at 4 am. Please record!
Javascript/Typescript - ok
Recap of React, Redux, just to be able to understand the existing code. |

Since the workshop is long passed and everyone seemed satisfied (for now), I think we can close this. |

Hello everyone,
At the recent Summit in Graz, concerns were raised about persistent admin UI bugs and the bottleneck caused by limited expertise in this area. To address this, elan and the University of Bremen are collaborating: elan will lead an introductory workshop, which will transition into a Bug Bash event hosted by the University of Bremen on May 13.–14..
To properly plan and prepare for the workshop, we need your input! The current plan is for @Arnei to kick things off with an introductory presentation on topics related to admin UI development that the community is interested in, followed by a Q&A session. Arne and other elan developers will also be available in Matrix and BBB for hands-on assistance. If certain questions or problems come up repeatedly during the Bug Bash, we can organize additional, more formalized sessions ad hoc in those channels.
We’d appreciate your feedback on the following:
Depending on how this goes and what kinds of issues arise before and during the event, we could even consider organizing further workshops down the line. These could potentially cover other parts of our codebase, such as the Editor, which faces similar challenges. Keep that in mind as well!
Looking forward to your feedback!
Best regards,
Julian
