KTON buyback and potential cbBTC buy

MY PROPOSAL:

Adding together 2.233.000 RING and 1.021.635 RING equals 3.254.635 RING

I propose we buy:

KTON in three transactions each worth 600.000 RING equaling 1.800.000 RING

and

cbBTC in three transactions out of which two would be 500.000 RING and one 454.635+RING equaling 1.454.635+ RING

Reasons behind this buyback decision is I propose we use cbBTC in future to fund development. Kton buyback would be mostly to make KTON more scarce and having it in treasury. And if we need more funds for development, we are no longer so dependand only on RING and its price.

Hey!

I don't think so, as among others huge problem with CKTON is liquidity. Another huge problem is no funds for technical support. I personaly would not exclude that in future though, but that would most probably need huge community involvement to start it.

That's really terrible display of the number. I cannot distinguish it's 2,233,000 or 2233.

I agree with the buy back proposal, suggest waiting for feedbacks from the community, then you can raise a proposal on the DeGov KTON. If passed, we can help to move forward the buy back plan.

Also agree with your buyback proposal. Since there is no real feedback from the KTON community, I suggest we move forward with this proposal earlier than after 3 weeks.

I have started today with notifying team about technical side of this in KTON DAO TG group. I hope in three weeks time(two more) we can do a proposal and do the first buyback. Does that sound ok?

Hi Saso, hi everyone! Hope you're still hanging on in this brutal market. I happened to be away exactly when this proposal was live, so I couldn't vote... but I'm glad it got executed. I did however, vote on upgrading Ktondao to support an adjustable quorum.

Have the next steps been decided yet, or where do we go from here?

Also, would love to hear your thoughts on when would be the "perfect time" to start with KTON exposure on X, the subpage on Ringdao, and kick off promo efforts in general. This makes sense when market sentiment improves, but if 2026 brings another year of downtrend, I think we shouldn't wait - we should go ahead anyway.

Well after a week it's certain that this is not the right time for promo activities... my god the market is just brutal 🤕

However when the downtrend turns around i would absolutely be willing to take over this part if the rest of community agrees of course. I have studied behavior/buyer psychology and I currently work in marketing - but in a completely different field. Like I said many times, since I'm invested and have been around many years, I would really like this project to succeed eventually, so we got to start somewhere. In general it's gonna be a long road to bring back trust in crypto and convince people to get involved and invest in new projects.

Also Saso, is 150 holders of KTON the right number of holders? On Subscan there is also another number of 457. Which one is correct / what is the difference?

The number of KTON holders addresses is the sum of Darwinia, Ethereum, Polygon, and Tron addresses.

@A-hogic Where did you see 150 addresses? I would say the correct number is 457, but this is only on the Darwinia chain.

I agree itis brutal. But now that our treasury is low and participation is mostly left to us enthusiasts we have to start somwhere. We probably would not gather huge participation, but if 5 more of us show up regulary in discussion it would be a great progress imho. Maybe we could have monthly calls in Discord or on X just to talk what the progress is. We have 625-ish KTON in Treasury now:-) Next is BTC.
