The fortress of the god of death is not a place accessible to the living, it will require to reach it, a strength and a courage far surpassing the human limits. The entrance to the underworld through the Acheron River is the best known way, but it will be necessary to be able to survive the waters of this cursed river, but this is only a prelude.
In front of the gate to the underworld, where the Acheron flows into the Styx, stands Cerberus, the legendary monster guarding the home of his illustrious master. After passing through the gate, the stories tell that one must pass the tests of Charon, the guide of souls who, since the beginning of time, allows souls to cross the styx.
Now we are at the first circle of the underworld, the limbo. The underworld is made of 9 circles representing the sins of men. To continue our descent, we will have to survive the special environments of each circle, as well as defeat its guardian.
However, the curse of the underworld will not let any human survive beyond it, and it gets stronger as you go down the circles. With each new circle a new curse is added to the previous one. Even among the greatest heroes, no human descending the hell has been able to cross even the first circle. The curse being too heavy, they either turned back or were killed after a long agony by the henchmen of the army of hell.
In the depths of the underworld, beyond the fiery plains of the ninth circle, there is an altar, guarded by furies in person, no soul can go near it. However, among the dead, the legends tell that a handful of souls have already reached it. Among them, Orpheus, after having obtained a parchment of passage, was allowed to use the altar.
He would have been transported to a sumptuous palace, immense, dark, decorated with decorations as impossible as they are absurd.
Strangely, the place is said to be calm, there would be no noise, no atmosphere, no smell, no life. This fortress is the home of the last guardian of hell as well as its king himself, the god Hades the merciless #559.
However, the underworld seems to be only a prelude to the kingdom of night...
