Multi Region is for mostly Disaster Recovery and Data Replication between multiple hazelcast clusters. WAN Replication is an hazelcast-enterprise feature which is not available in Hazelcast Opensource.

MultiZone concept is in cluster concept and used with Hazelcast PartitionGroups. https://docs.hazelcast.org/docs/latest/manual/html-single/#grouping-types
ZONE_AWARE group type is supported by hazelcast discovery plugins in Cloud Environments
